Bad Sneakers Records
was established in early 2006 by the guys behind the club night of the same
name at The Faversham, Leeds. The Bad Sneakers club night has been
running every Saturday night for nearly 3 years, and has earned a national
reputation for championing new music, with gigs over the past 3 years from
Arctic Monkeys, The Cribs, Pigeon Detectives, Hot Chip, Forward Russia,
Lily Allen and more. Resident DJ Nick Scott plays until the early
hours every week and is an integral part of the Bad Sneakers team, contributing
design skills to most of the Bad Sneakers label releases.
Our first release was The Sugars – Doo-Wop (Sugar So Sweet) / T.V.
released on 7” ltd edition pink vinyl and has since been followed
by the acclaimed debut single by Wild Beasts – Brave Bulging Buoyant
Clairvoyants (which saw the band snapped up by Domino Records), a 2nd single
by The Sugars, Monsters and 2 singles by The Acutes.
